Wireless all-round keyboard for multimedia applications

Ahrensburg, May 2010:
For years the brand KeySonicTM has been standing for out of the ordinary input devices – keyboards and mice with a twist. Our new keyboard the KSK-5200 RFM is no exception; outwardly it attracts attention by shapely curves while inside it is packed with many useful extras.

Its dimensions of 388x42x185mm along with normal key size allow it to retain old writing habits. Despite the space-saving design it does not lose the full functionality of a full-sized keyboard. As with all the KeySonic wireless keyboards the KSK-5200 RFM offers a location-independent radio operation without cumbersome cable connections. A distance up to about 10m to the PC is possible with reliable 2.4 GHz radio transmission.

For mobile use a large optical trackball is built-in as a mouse replacement on the right. It has a diameter of 19mm and works with fast and precise scanning of 800 dpi. The trackball is complemented by two mouse buttons with a scroll wheel on the left hand side of the keyboard. Two additional mouse buttons have been placed on the bottom left and right edges of keyboard for a smooth files and internet browsing experience.

On the lowest key row, a rather unusual key is located: the MCE button. It opens the Windows Media Center (if installed), which is integrated by default starting from Windows7.

Above the function keys 12 multimedia keys and a red LED low battery indicator are located. The five left buttons act as Internet hotkeys and open your e-mail client, internet browser and my computer as well as the previous and next pages. As second assignment they simplify the operation of the Media Center (if installed) as MCE hotkeys while when pressed together with the Fn key it will open the default applications for Internet TV, music, photos, videos and the TV player. The other 7 buttons are multimedia hotkeys for regulating the volume, start and stop the media tracks and select the previous or next track.

With the many special features, the KSK-5200 RFM is optimal for controlling modern home entertainment systems, for mobile applications, as well as for training, conference & presentation rooms. As already known from all the previous KeySonic devices, the key stroke is silent due to high quality Soft-Touch membrane technology and with a pleasant pressure point.

KeySonic KSK-5200 RFM is delivered in an attractive retail packaging in red KeySonic design. It is marketed exclusively by MaxPoint Handelsgesellschaft mbH and is available in specialised shops for a recommended retail price of 49 € (incl. VAT) starting now.

Case newcomers in giant and dwarf format

Ahrensburg, May 2010:
Aplus extends its product range by two new PC cases, as different they cannot be. While the CS-802B - a gamer and server case - offers maximum space for many extensions through its enormous depth of 584 mm, the mini ITX case CS-160 scores with a small size (only 220 x 68 x 245 mm) and variable expansion options. Both cases are made of solid, black coated steel, which is sometimes supplemented by plastic parts in the front. Multiple ventilation openings provide a good air circulation.

Outwardly, the first eye-catcher of CS-802B is the attractive, lockable front panel with blue illumination in a sinuous mix of matt black plastic and mesh. Behind this door eSATA, 2 x USB, audio, microphone and Firewire ports are hiding, and bays for maximal 9 x 5.25" or 6 x 5.25" + 4 x 3.5" drives or HDDs. All bays can be mounted screwless with a clip system and enable a variety of configuration options. The hard drives are stored in a removable cage with anti-vibration protection, more cages are optionally available.

In the generous interior has enough space for an optimal cooling system. A 12 cm fan is already integrated on the back side. Inside the case is room for 7 x 120-140 mm fans or optional water cooling. Four holes were provided rear for its cooling hoses. A power supply can be mounted on the bottom of the case, with the fan upwards or downwards; a soft frame is included for sound decoupling. Rear are 7 slots for PCI cards that can be assembled without screws as well.

The smart mini-ITX case CS-160 can be positioned upright or lying flat with its clever feet. In the front panel with A+ logo a silvery ON/OFF switch, a HDD activity indicator, a slim ODD bay, microphone, speaker and two USB ports are located. The large interior includes a 5 cm rear fan and a variety of connection cables; it provides space for a 2.5" HDD. The content of delivery also encloses a 72 W power supply.

Both cases are marketed exclusively by MaxPoint Handelsgesellschaft mbH. CS-802B is available in specialised shops for a recommended retail price of 89 € (incl. VAT) starting from now, CS-160 costs 49 €.
